Outstanding, Innovative Educators

CMA has attracted some of the most outstanding, innovative educators to be found anywhere! We are proud to showcase them on our website for parents and students to review and select the most appropriate Mentor for their particular needs.

All of our Mentors have received special training in online teaching methods and strategies through our Mentor Certification Training Program (MCT™) in addition to their academic university degrees. The MCT™ provides the technical skills required to properly conduct an online class through InterAct!™ and prepares teachers to perform all of the duties required of CMA Mentors. All CMA/AO Mentors are credentialed teachers in one or more states. Some have advanced degrees and specialized training. CMA Educational Experience

The Christa McAuliffe Academy educational experience stimulates thinking, engages students with interactive learning technology, and builds the skills and knowledge needed to master subject matter.

Individualized Instruction

The learning pace at CMA is individualized so students work as quickly or as slowly as necessary. The amount of mentor involvement varies from student to student. Some students will work independently while some will require more mentor attention. The mentor provides just the right amount of individualized instruction while guiding each learner through assigned courses. Many of our mentors find this method of teaching brings back the joy to the profession that was missing in traditional "brick & Mortar" schools.

Teachers Facilitate Learning

Since CMA courses include all lessons, practice exercises, assignments and assessments, mentors focus on facilitating the learning rather than planning lessons or managing the classroom. In addition, the cost and inflexibilty of the textbooks used in other traditional and online schools are eliminated. However, mentors can customize courses by adding their own resources, assignments, and assessments as needed.

CMA Content Provides Educational Solutions

CMA content may be used in a variety of ways: as a supplement to traditional classroom instruction; as complete, self-contained online courses for distance learning; or for acceleration, enrichment, or remediation for individuals who have special needs.

Outstanding Teacher Resources

To support our outstanding mentors and their continual growth, CMA provides resources include ongoing MCT™ professional development; a resource guide, a dedicated technical support team; membership in a Users Group for peer support, and High Stakes Pro™; an integrated online student management system, to report and track student usage, completion of assignments, test scores, and quizzes.
