Middle School Program
Our middle and high school programs teach the basic requirements needed for graduation from our accredited High School program. The courses are self paced using the online curriculum to teach foundational skills and offline assignments which build on the online skills and have the student reading, writing, researching, conducting Science Labs, and creating visual projects, etc. To see Middle School Requirement click here and for High School click here.
Our curriculum is based in current learning research and is designed to help students to become informed citizens, self-motivated thinkers, and competent presenters of their knowledge and discoveries. Using assessment testing, the curriculum can be modified and individualized to help students move at the pace that matches their abilities. Students can also take honors courses to increase the challenge the regular courses provide.
The mentors for these programs are licensed professionals, specifically trained in online learning. Students select their own mentor who will guide their choice of course, grade the end results of the courses, and conduct the weekly eClass.
eClasses are conducted at least 36 weeks of the year. Students are required to prepare for and attend each scheduled class. It is a chance to meet other students from around the world and discuss everything from current events to ancient history, geography to literature, photosynthesis to tornados. Students lead discussions and do presentations for topics in the courses they are working on outside of eClass.
For extra-curricular opportunities, students can serve in the Student Congress, join a student club, participate in forum discussions, or just come to the virtual student lounge to play a game. There are many opportunities ?meet? each other and provide themselves with as much or as little social contacts as they choose.
Parents are encouraged to take an active part in student learning and student environments. Parents and students, with mentor approval, can make changes to the curriculum to better fit specific needs and goals.
